Hi, I’m Hannah, the curator behind The Getaway Guide.

My obsession with finding beautiful places to stay started in Paris, in a classic Haussmann-style apartment I shared with my mom. I loved the worn wood floors, the French doors opening onto the street, and the way staying there made me feel more connected to the city around me. It completely changed the way I thought about where I stayed when I traveled.

After many Airbnb stays spanning multiple countries, I realized the stay was only part of the story.

I travel for the places that make me want to linger: the restaurant I’d make a reservation for again, the boat trip I still talk about years later, the neighborhood worth wandering without a plan, and, yes, the apartment I wish I could move into.

The Getaway Guide is where I collect those places alongside the stories behind finding them. I’m not interested in recommending ten restaurants if there’s only one I genuinely loved. If something makes it onto the guide, it’s because I would go back.
